About the Farm
Fischer Farm represents a committed goal of mine to breed, raise, train, and show quality Welsh and 1/2 Welsh cross ponies along with selected breeds of dogs.I have always had a menagerie around me and found myself in the business of caring for animals and helping their owners to understand The Animal / Human Bond. This path, as a Veterinary Technician then nurse ( 25 + years) has led me to know what is needed and wanted by the community of animal lovers!
So, along with my passions I have the good fortune to share with many " all my Creatures." My Welsh dream came to me after realizing my competitive horse show days were pretty much over, so what was I to do with my Warmblood and Thoroughbreds? That is when my Irish roots became alive with the memory of the Welsh cart pony I drove as a girl down the cobbled streets of Ireland where we summered. I decided to pick the sturdy Riding Pony for my cross, the goal, to make a fancy versitile show pony for all those "wish lists." I know about those... I had MANY!!The homework began, tracing the Welsh pedigrees looking for only the best. My good fortune led me to "Evans Welsh" owned by Kathleen Rawls in Oregon, also know as "Mt. Dragon". There Kathleen gave me the best advice, after listening and hearing what I wanted to accomplish at Fischer Farm, she presented the perfect yearling colt, "Evans Judgement" which would become FF's herd sire, I will be forever grateful for her knowledge and kindness!
